Blow-Off Valves and Reciculation Valves both "work" yes, and they both serve the same function, but you are out of your element when you make the assumption that there is no difference in HOW well they perform that function. (See MY post above about relief valves). There are also more ways to evaluate a car than its 1/4 mile run. But... even if you want to talk strictly quarter mile there are fast 1/4 mile cars with BOVs, and there are fast 1/4 mile cars without BOV (recircs instead). That does NOT provide conclusive evidence that nothing was helped on the particular cars that are using them (vs. had they run without them). That does however serve your general statement that you don't NEED BOVs, but that was not the argument Woody & I were making.
